Victory

Let’s not be complacent and let evil triumph in the world. But how? First, we need courage to resist our natural responses of revenge, lecturing, cursing, shrinking back in fear, etc. Next, “overcome evil with good.” (Rom. 12:21) That may sound pathetic and weak to you, but actually truth, mercy, love, and kindness work better than the alternatives of evil for evil or ignoring its existence. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. said: “Darkness cannot drive out darkness, only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate, only love can do that.” Let’s be humble, active, victorious agents that shine the light and love of Jesus Christ in every situation we encounter in this world, for He is more powerful than all the darkness of evil because He won that victory through His death on the Cross and His Resurrection.
